The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took in a special performance of Dear Evan Hansen on Tuesday evening in support of their Royal Foundation. The musical tackles mental health topics important to Will and Kate, including anxiety, depression and suicide. You can read more about Will and Kate’s the evening at the Daily Mirror.

Dear Evan Hansen opened on Broadway in 2016 and won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. It currently has three stagings: one on Broadway, another touring the U.S. and a third with its West End staging, which debuted last year. I had the chance to see it in New York several years ago, when Ben Platt was in the starring role, and cried the ugly cry at the end. For a primer, I highly recommend this show montage on YouTube.

Please share your thoughts on the show and/or Kate’s sparkly shoes in the comments!
