Happy Anniversary, Harry & Meghan!

Has it really been a year? A year since I hauled my cookies to a room at the Four Seasons Palo Alto — in a tiara, because HAD TO — so I could sleep for a few hours, wake up before dawn, don my fascinator and gasp/cry/shout my way through the royal wedding? I even monogrammed and painstakingly ironed my PJs, because if you are going to watch a royal affair in your sleeping clothes, they should be pressed IMHO.
But mostly: What a morning that was! I’ll never forget the chills I felt when Meghan Markle walked down the aisle, to the awaiting Prince Harry and her new life as the Duchess of Sussex. I found unexpected delight in re-watching the ceremony, so if you have two spare hours, or even just a few minutes to click through, I highly recommend it. Hindsight being 20/20 and all, I stand by my comments about her hair being a tad too loose for me and her Givenchy dress not fitting quite right. But so much about that day was absolutely enchanting, from the show-stealing gospel choir to that picture-perfect kiss on the steps. And how about Doria on Chuck’s arm or Meghan’s second Stella McCartney dress? SO GOOD.
